Plain-English answer to: "What happens to my project if I upload it here?"
You're trusting us with the early stage of a film project — a logline, a title, sometimes a synopsis or a financing plan. That information has real value. This page exists so you don't have to read a 12-page Terms of Service to understand what we will and won't do with it.
You retain all intellectual property rights in everything you enter on QuickSummer. That includes loglines, synopses, treatments, title lists, calculator inputs, deck content, pitch text, classifieds copy, and any media you attach. Saving a project on QuickSummer does not assign or license your IP to us.
Every project you save is private until you explicitly publish it. "Private" means:
Look for the privacy chip at the top of the calculator panel — it shows the current visibility of the project you're working on. To make a project public, you must take a deliberate action (publish it, generate a share link, or post it to classifieds).
This is also stated in the AI Promise but it bears repeating here: your project content is never sent to any AI provider for training. Translation, brainstorming, and other AI features only send the specific item you trigger them on, and only when you trigger them. There is no background "ingest" of saved projects.
We do not sell your projects, your contact information, your activity, or your platform usage to advertisers, data brokers, studios, distributors, or any third party. There are no advertising trackers on the platform. There is no analytics that profiles you for resale. Our business model is subscription and escrow fees; nothing else.
When you share a project — via shareable link, public profile, classifieds post, intro request, or escrow proposal — we make the visibility change explicit at the moment of action. If a save creates a side-effect (for example, mirroring a "seeking distribution" project to the classifieds board), we show you a banner telling you what was published and giving you a one-click way to unpublish.
All traffic between your browser and QuickSummer is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA512. Stored project content is held on encrypted server volumes.
You can delete your account from the profile page at any time. Account deletion removes:
Some records are retained for legal/accounting reasons (payment records: 7 years per EU law; closed escrow contracts: 10 years per Estonian commercial law). These retentions are listed in the Privacy Policy.
If two members independently submit similar projects (a common situation in development), QuickSummer takes no position on which member "owns" the underlying idea. We are a tools and networking platform, not a chain-of-title arbitrator. Project chronology (saved-at timestamps) is preserved for your reference but is not legal evidence on its own.
If you believe another member has copied or misused your IP, contact us at legal@quicksummer.com. We will respond and, where appropriate, deactivate posts pending resolution.
