Spurlock's award-winning film got McDonald's up in armsSuper Size Me, a documentary, which won the best director award at Sundance, has upset the fast food industry. The film features Morgan Spurlock eating a McDonald's-only diet for 30 days in a row and gaining, allegedly, 25 pounds as a result. According to the filmmakers, they aim at educating people on the health risks of fast food and this is the reason why they give the average $3 discount to McDonald's employees. Lisa Howard, McDonald's spokeswoman calls it a gimmick, arguing that Spurlock just overate and did not exercise. She stresses that the food of their chain fits nicely into a healthy lifestyle.
